Lt. Lahoma Vaughn, BPD, was the Rotarian of the Day. Her guests were Deputy Brien Conner and Deputy Melvin Joyner. The Deputies gave a presentation of the Wichita County Sheriff's Office Citizen Academy. There is no fee to attend, and there are two classes per year, meeting every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for 13 weeks. President Elect Lahoma Vaughn gave us a recap of the District Assembly, and spoke a little about meeting SSG (Ret) Shilo Harris, a true American Hero. We bought autographed copies of his book "Steel Will." For more info see: http://shiloharris.com/
City Commissioner Marguerite Love was a guest at our meeting today.
Some members have been preparing new planks for the picnic tables at the Rotary Pavilion. The members are requested to assist in the replacement of the planks this Saturday, April 29.
